Assistant Auditor-General, Accounting and Auditing Policy

Todd rejoined the Office of the Auditor-General in January 2016. He is responsible for the Accounting and Auditing Policy group, which encompasses auditor appointments, auditing policy, accounting policy, and quality assurance across all sectors within the Auditor-General’s audit mandate. Todd is also responsible for school audits.

Todd has been a member of the New Zealand Accounting Standards Board of the External Reporting Board New Zealand since July 2016. He was also a member of the Financial Reporting Standards Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants for six years from 2003, and has served on a number of standard-setting working groups.

In May 2018, Todd was appointed as a member of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board. He was previously the technical accounting advisor to the former New Zealand member of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board during 2015.

Before rejoining us, Todd was the Director of Accounting Standards at the External Reporting Board. Before that, he was the Director of Accounting Policy here at the Office. Todd is a fellow of the Institute and gained his Business Studies qualification from Massey University.
